 Provides opportunities to teachers, staff and language facilitators to receive professional development , coupled with raising awareness of the Jamaica Disabilities Act classroom rights and responsibilities.

DEAF EMPOWERMENT/AFFIRMATION

Jamaican society still imposes the beliefs: Deaf = Dumb and the opinions; Deaf = Can Not. These attitudes are also prominent in most Deaf children's homes, resulting in negative stigmas, nonacceptance and loss of self-worth. The camps affirm Deafness as a culture and aims to empower Deaf youth with the knowledge of Deaf Can!
